{"id":237,"date":"2021-03-22T04:55:17","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T04:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ivfoverseas.com\/?p=237"},"modified":"2021-03-22T04:55:17","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T04:55:17","slug":"embryo-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ivfoverseas.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/22\/embryo-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"Embryo Tests"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>A New Last Chance&nbsp;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>There could soon be a baby-boom among women who thought they\u2019d hit an IVF dead end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monica Halem calls it the \u201cfertility train.\u201d Every woman who embarks on a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecut.com\/2017\/08\/how-i-got-this-baby-discovering-getting-pregnant-is-hard.html\">cycle of in vitro fertilization<\/a>&nbsp;is familiar with the ride: the multiple cycles of hormonal stimulation, the pain of the injections, the discomfort and the bloating; then the delicate harvest of eggs to be fertilized outside the body, and the anxious wait for genetic testing on the embryos to make sure they have the right number of chromosomes before they are transferred back; and then, if all of the embryo tests come back abnormal, or the embryos don\u2019t implant, or the pregnancy ends prematurely in miscarriage, the process starts all over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a lot of highs, right?\u201d Halem says. \u201cYou\u2019re getting excited, you\u2019re ready. And then when it doesn\u2019t work, which is more times than not, it\u2019s a very low low. Such a depressing low.
